Choosing a consultant is not always easy. There are many practitioners
advertising at this time. Some have been trained by Feng Shui Masters,
many have not. Here are some questions to ask to help you to decide which
practitioner to use:
- Do
they practice Traditional Chinese Feng Shui?
- Were
they trained by a recognized Feng Shui Master?
- For how
long and to what level did they train with this master?
- How
do you feel when talking to them?
- Do
they claim to do the impossible?
What
tools will they use to assess your building?
Whilst there are many individual methods or ideas promoted by different masters and practitioners, those who use the Time, Space, Compass school of Feng Shui will use a compass to determine the buildings orientation a "LoPan" to help with the calculations essential to a true Feng Shui analysis and possibly charts that provide their general calculations.
I personally also carry an Electromagnetic Field Tester. This is not something all practitioners carry or feel is necessary but my feeling is that with the increasing electromagnetic radiation that is invading our environment through electronic devices of all kinds, it helps to identify possible stress areas within a home or business. Whilst not necessary for the traditional analysis due to the fact that it wasn't a problem until electronics became such an integral part of our life, I find it helps with positioning furniture in a healthy way.
What is needed to assess your building?
To undertake an audit using the comprehensive Time, Space, Compass
School a practitioner will need:
A Scale floor plan of your home or business premises.
Where renovations or extensions have been carried out the plans
should clearly show the original building and the renovations.
The year the building was built.
The year in which renovations or extensions were undertaken.
(This information is usually accessible from your Local Council
or Lands Title Department)
The Date of Birth of all occupants in a home or the date of birth
of the owner/operator of the business.
IF a consultant does not ask you for these things it would be my
recommendation that they don't use the most comprehensive method
of Feng Shui analysis. REMEMBER Traditional Chinese Feng Shui is
a Precise Mathematical system, not superstitious folklore.
What sort of Cures and Enhancements will they use?
Traditional Chinese Feng Shui uses the 5 Elements: Earth, Fire, Metal, Water & Wood to enhance or cure the energies in a building and its surroundings.
The colours of these elements and shapes or forms of these elements are used to create an environment in harmony. You should not be able to walk into a home or business and know it has been Feng Shui'd. All of the cures and enhancements used should blend into the natural style of the home.
Rather than use decorations sold by many stores throughout the country where cures are based on superstition, it is possible to implement decorative changes that flow easily into the natural style of the building.
Decoration can be inexpensive and practical. The feel of the environment is all important. If decorations create disharmony then they do not promote good Feng Shui. Occupants will feel the changes almost immediately.
What to expect from my Consultation?
All consultants are different, some will produce written analysis, and others will simply provide verbal recommendations. There is no right or wrong, all consultants are different.
I provide a written Report with all of my findings and recommendations. It is my belief that this makes it easier for my clients than having to remember everything said over a period of two or three hours.
Remember a consultant cannot make guarantees that you will be rich and famous or that you will be cured from your illnesses. For some of us this isn't our path or destiny.
Consultants can only make recommendations that will enhance the positive areas of your home/business and decrease the negative aspects based on Feng Shui principles, thereby supporting the path you take in life.
What do I get with my Feng Shui Analysis?
A
Full Written Report
in a Presentation Folder. There is also information on Interior
design and decorating ideas. This information will also be provided
in CD format.
This
will detail:
Your
Birth date, Gua Number and Chinese
Animal and the characteristics of each.
Your Favourable and Unfavourable directions for sleeping, working,
relationships and other areas of your life.
The cures and enhancements used in Traditional Feng Shui (Flying
Stars). These are based on the Elements using colour, shape, texture
and sound. They are listed for your reference with their associated
characteristics.
The
outside environment called “Form”
is considered as this can affect the way chi flows into your home.
Any cures necessary in this area will be listed.
We
look at the Chi Flow around the home and through
the home.
An analysis of the Entrances into the home and where they are positioned are identified with both positive and negative affects. Suggestions on how to enhance or reduce these areas as necessary.
Every
room in a home or building has a Health and
Wealth star. These will either be positive or negative depending
on the star chart. All homes/buildings have positive and negative
areas. The first thing we look at is the Health, for what is Wealth
without Health. These are enhanced or reduced as necessary.
Design & Decorating ideas are also given at the time of the
Analysis.
Where to place Water inside and outside
the building to encourage Wealth and Good Fortune.
All
Furniture Placement and Bed Placement
is given to bring the best for all occupants. Design and decorating
ideas are given when doing this.
Garden
Design Ideas.
The
Analysis takes us about 2-3 hours to go through so that you fully
understand what we have done.
I
follow you up by phone on a Regular Basis to see how things are
progressing. There is not additional costs for this.
Ask your Consultant where and with whom they did their Training
Training at institutes such as the American Feng Shui Institute,
and The Research Centre in Canada teach Traditional Feng Shui and
offer advanced studies. Studying under a Feng Shui Master is however
most desirable as these masters have a wealth of information that
is passed onto only their students.
How long does a Consultation take?
This
varies from person to person. A first consultation could take a
few hours depending on the size of the building and the number of
occupants. Expect a consultant to spend as much time outside the
building as well as inside. A Report and recommendations will then
be made for you after calculations have been done. These can either
be verbal or written. This can also take a consultant several hours
depending on the possible problem areas. Your consultant should
sit down with you and explain the report step by step so that you
have a full understanding of the issues involved and the recommendations
made to you.
Payment
As in any business deal be sure that you know what the service is
and what it will cost. If you are unsure feel free to ask your consultant,
they should be only too happy to clarify any queries that you have.
I secure an initial deposit and when the report is presented the final balance is paid.
I accept cash payments and also have Credit Card (Mastercard, Visa) and EFPOS facilities.
